Top Aces of WWI Playing Cards

Created by Jody Eklund

"Fight on and fly on to the last drop of blood and the last drop of fuel, to the last beat of the heart" - Manfred von Richthofen (AKA...The Red Baron) In World War I many saw being a pilot as a glamorous role. A position that would take them away from the mud and blood of the front lines. Aviation attracted young, energetic recruits who were keen to be trained in this new way of warfare. The need was high and the training was minimal. If you survived, you had the opportunity to be one of the elite, the "Flying Aces." A flying ace, fighter ace or air ace is a military aviator credited with shooting down several enemy aircraft during aerial combat. The actual number of aerial victories required to officially qualify as an "ace" has varied, but is usually considered to be five or more. Inspiration My fascination with flight started with my grandfather who was a "Jack of all Trades". One of my grandfather's greatest loves was flying. This project is dedicated to his joy of flying and to the many flying daredevils who risked their lives for that thrill. Join this fascinating quest and my passion for historically profound characters, and larger than life sagas.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

July Progress Update
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Jul 20, 2018 at 02:07:37 PM

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update on where we are at with getting you all your rewards.

This is what Legends Playing Card Co. sent me this week, since I asked them what the progress is on getting my shipment to Gambler's Warehouse.

C/O: JUN 27

ETD: JUL 4

ETA: JUL 17 (LAX)

ETA: JUL 29 (Dallas, TX)

As you can see, it didn't leave until July 4th, which I had thought it would have left towards the end of June and would have arrived by now and shipping would start by next week. Unfortunately, these are the things I can not control. Believe me, I want these in the warehouse really bad. As of right now, it looks like the beginning of August we can start shipping.

I want to say a big "THANK YOU" for all your continued support and patience with me and this project. I'm looking for ways to make these take a lot less time in the future.

Sincerely,

Jody Eklund

Top Aces of WWI is now being printed! Schedule update
almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 16, 2018 at 01:35:15 PM

Hey everyone!

A quick update. The playing cards for Top Aces of WWI are now being printed and should be completed by June 15th. This means you should be receiving your rewards by the end of July. Once the decks have been printed they will be put on a freighter to boat across the Pacific and eventually arrive in Texas warehouse to be fulfilled.

I will send out my next update once the decks have been printed and put on a boat. This should be around June 15th.

Cheers!

Top Aces of WWII | March Update
about 6 years ago – Thu, Mar 22, 2018 at 10:55:59 PM

Hey everyone!

I know, it's been awhile since my last update. My apologies for that, but there hasn't been much that has happened.

Right now I am waiting for the hard proofs, which should be here next week or the following week hopefully.

Unfortunately, we are running behind schedule. I was hoping to be in production by now and because I have been doing this for awhile, it's looking like June is a more likely time frame for delivery. Once I approve the hard proofs, we will be scheduling the print run.

My apologies for the bad news, but it's really hard to tell what kind of schedule the factory has for printing.

BackerKit Survey's

I have locked down all your BackerKit Surveys as of today and I will be charging the credit cards tomorrow from those who had add-ons. I am about ready to start paying for the production, so I will need to close ranks and gather the resources. You can still change your address if you need to, just send me a message and I will unlock your survey and have you make the necessary changes.

Thank you and talk to you soon. Once I receive the hard proofs, i will send you another message with pictures.
